B1G Men's Soccer Tournament

November 19, 2016

I had the pleasure of photographing the B1G Men's Soccer Tournament last weekend. The level of competition in the B1G is already very high, but you could tell that the tournament added another level of excitement to play on the field.

The tournament was played at Grand Park in Westfield, IN and it's the perfect facility to host such a well-run and respected event. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did shooting them! Cheers!

Bryan & Allison

November 13, 2016

As far as Sunday night's go - this one will be one for the storybooks. Bryan emailed me some time ago wanting to have a photographer capture the moment when he popped the big question to Allison.

He had the night all planned out: from the romantic carriage ride through downtown to a nice, sit down meal after the surprise. Due to some timing issues we couldn't control, the original plan of proposing on The Circle was changed to the fountain in Veteran's Memorial Plaza, across the street from the Indiana War Memorial. It was the perfect backdrop!

Just judging from his meticulous planning and execution and the way Allison gazed into his eyes during and between photos - these two lovebirds are well on their way to a lifetime of happiness together! Best wishes to both of you!

San Antonio - Remember the Alamo!

October 31, 2016

There is no basement in the Alamo. Trust me. I asked. It was the first thing I did.

But no trip to San Antonio is complete without a visit to the Alamo and the city's scenic River Walk downtown! I managed to cover both of those items on the 'to-do' list right away last week on a business trip to Texas, which is good because the rest of the week was crazy busy!

Southern Hospitality continues it's tradition and the people of San Antonio were more than welcoming and I had an absolute great time during my brief stay. Here are just a couple photos of my trip, mostly by the way of my work pattern, of the Alamo, the city's iconic skyline and needle, a few neighborhood shots (including Tommy Lee Jones' house) and of course the River Walk during the very quiet morning and during it's peak hours at night. Cheers!

Red Bull Air Race - Finals

October 2, 2016

You could cut the air (or a pylon) when the finals for the Indy Red Bull Air Race began on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The stands were full of people and you could hear their excitement as the day progressed from a field of 14, down to 8 and as the final four duked it out for the top spot. The winner was German pilot Matthias Dolderer (21). Cheers!

Road Trip - Day Five : Yellowstone National Park

Road Trip - Day Four : From Devils Tower to Cody, WY

September 29, 2016

After a long night shooting long-exposures of the stars, we went back up to Devils Tower to use the morning light for a few more photos and another quick hike. I could have easily spent a few more days exploring the monument grounds and hiking, but we needed to push west...

Road Trip - Day Three : Devils Tower

September 27, 2016

Day Three was entirely dedicated to Devils Tower National Monument, our country's first national monument. My dad and I went on a similar road trip when I was a kid and I was absolutely fascinated by Devils Tower. I still am. But this time I had the opportunity to hike its many trails and see it at first light, midday and into the dark of night...

Nick & Jordan

I am normally a bit reclusive on my birthday each year, using the time to reflect back on a life already well-lived and celebrate all of my blessings. So- only for Nick (and Jordan) would I come out of seclusion to ‘work’ on my yearly trip around the sun…

Alex & Caroline

One of my favorite things to photograph is surprise engagements. There’s something about being in on the secret and getting to share in just an ounce of the joy after they say ‘Yes!’

After weeks of planning and rearranging, I was finally able to photograph Alex proposing to Caroline at Stewart Park in Ithaca, NY! Spoiler alert: she said, “YES!”

So in honor of the newly-engaged couple, here are a few photos from the surprise engagement, as well as some planned portraits a few days later in Taughannock Falls State Park in Trumansburg, NY.

Congratulations, Alex & Caroline! I wish you nothing but the absolute best in your journey in life together! Cheers!

Presenting Milik Dawkins - a Michigan native and 2020 Cornell graduate from the prestigious ILR School! Senior Photos - Natalie Carlson

Senior photos are one of the most fun and exciting things (besides sports) that I get to photograph. Each senior has their own style and energy and I usually can get that to shine through in the photos. WELL FOLKS! This one is no different, in fact, this particular shoot has a special place in my heart as it’s my niece, Natalie!

Ivy League Tournament Cornell WBKB
Ivy League Tournament - Cornell Women's Basketball

The Cornell Big Red women’s basketball team earned their place in the Ivy League tournament and I was fortunate enough to travel with the team to document the event. The tournament was hosted by Yale in New Haven, CT. Day one included media interviews and a televised shoot around and day two was game day vs Princeton. The Big Red fell just short of advancing, but I loved being able to spend some time with the team and getting to know the coaches, staff and student-athletes better. I can’t wait to see what this team has in store next season! #YellCornell

Four Sports - One Weekend

It was an exciting time for Cornell Sports in Ithaca this past weekend, as we hosted a plethora of home events including an indoor track & field meet, women’s ice hockey games vs Brown and Yale, a women’s tennis match (and HUGE win) against Colorado and a pair of men’s basketball games vs Brown and Yale.
I had the distinct pleasure of running from event-to-event and photographing the Cornell student-athletes. I feel like I walked away having made some really nice pictures - I hope you enjoy! #YellCornell
