Flight Museum

February 15, 2016

I'm a big history buff. So when the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapter I belong to wanted to organize a trip to the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, OH - I jumped at the chance to not only take some photos, but to learn more about history, specifically flight history in our military.

We were able to take a 'behind-the-scenes' tour of the restoration area that included current efforts on several aircraft, missiles and most notably, the Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress known as Memphis Belle. It is a magnificent piece of metal and ingenuity.

Here are several photos of aircraft from the tour of the standard facilities and some from the restoration area. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos as much I enjoyed learning about the subjects and capturing their likeness. Cheers!
