You could cut the air (or a pylon) when the finals for the Indy Red Bull Air Race began on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The wind and rain tried it's best to keep the planes grounded, but the race faithful filled the stands and you could hear their excitement as the day progressed from a field of 14, down to 8 and as the final four duked it out for the top spot for the year. The winner was pilot Yoshi Muroya and he became Japan’s first Red Bull Air Race world champion. Cheers!

The opportunity came around again for me to "guest coach" with another of DePauw University's athletic teams this fall and I jumped on the opportunity to spend some time with HC Bill Lynch, his staff and team this week on the gridiron. First- thank you's owed to the athletic department for the incredible opportunity and to Coach Lynch and his staff for being so welcoming this week.

I had the distinct pleasure to "guest coach" with head coach Blake Allen and the DePauw University baseball team this past week for a few practices and joined the team today for a double-header against Ohio Wesleyan College. What a special group of young men!

Zion National Park in Utah is on the top 10 list of most-visited National Parks. It's easy to see why after visiting there three years ago about this time of year. I recently went looking for a photo I had of a turkey to post online and when I finally remembered where it was - I figured I might as well put up a blog post about Zion! Turkey photo found below. Happy Thanksgiving!

The first day of winter, or so it would seem, was today. Despite the 30-degree cold chill, The Iowa Hawkeyes came out hot and blanked Illinois, 28-0. The hometown team couldn't keep up with the Iowa run game and suffered their eighth loss of the season.
As always, it's an honor any time I get the opportunity to photograph the Hawkeyes when they are within driving distance of Indy. Beside some really cold fingers and toes, the day was a success, both photographically and in the win column for the Hawks. #GoHawks #Until

I had the pleasure of photographing the B1G Men's Soccer Tournament last weekend. The level of competition in the B1G is already very high, but you could tell that the tournament added another level of excitement to play on the field.
The tournament was played at Grand Park in Westfield, IN and it's the perfect facility to host such a well-run and respected event. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did shooting them! Cheers!

As far as Sunday night's go - this one will be one for the storybooks. Bryan emailed me some time ago wanting to have a photographer capture the moment when he popped the big question to Allison.
He had the night all planned out: from the romantic carriage ride through downtown to a nice, sit down meal after the surprise. Due to some timing issues we couldn't control, the original plan of proposing on The Circle was changed to the fountain in Veteran's Memorial Plaza, across the street from the Indiana War Memorial. It was the perfect backdrop!
Just judging from his meticulous planning and execution and the way Allison gazed into his eyes during and between photos - these two lovebirds are well on their way to a lifetime of happiness together! Best wishes to both of you!
Read MoreSan Antonio - Remember the Alamo!
There is no basement in the Alamo. Trust me. I asked. It was the first thing I did.
But no trip to San Antonio is complete without a visit to the Alamo and the city's scenic River Walk downtown! I managed to cover both of those items on the 'to-do' list right away last week on a business trip to Texas, which is good because the rest of the week was crazy busy!
Southern Hospitality continues it's tradition and the people of San Antonio were more than welcoming and I had an absolute great time during my brief stay. Here are just a couple photos of my trip, mostly by the way of my work pattern, of the Alamo, the city's iconic skyline and needle, a few neighborhood shots (including Tommy Lee Jones' house) and of course the River Walk during the very quiet morning and during it's peak hours at night. Cheers!
